What you'll learn and experience.
Join Kevin for a comprehensive review of the machinery, supplies and process of coldworking fused and cold glass in a stained glass studio. Smaller Covington lap wheels will be the primary demonstration machines, with other machines like wet tile saws, lathes, wet belt sanders and diamond hand pads discussed. Using a lap wheel to clean up minor mistakes on fused glass will be demonstrated, with a discussion of fire-polishing to achieve a glossy finish with a slump, or not, in a kiln as well. Making faux rondels from wine glass bases and modifying stock straight line bevels to customized shorter sizes will be demonstrated as well. Faceting thicker fused dichroic glass into unique jewelry pieces will also be done, time permitting.
Covington machinery used in class will be available for purchase after the class and take it home or have shipped back to your studio.
Secure your spot now and learn from one of the best in the art glass industry.
